Alm Brand Group Transforms Financial Planning with Future-Proof EPM Solution from Oracle

Faced with an intensive post-merger integration process, Alm Brand Group (ABG) partnered with TheVIT to modernise its planning, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities. The existing Excel-based setup was replaced with a robust, integrated EPM platform that streamlines data flows, enhances user experience, and is prepared for advanced planning features like simulations and rolling forecasts.TheVIT led a collaborative implementation across key business areas—premiums, claims, HR, reinsurance, and more—ensuring early user involvement and dedicated model owners to cover each business area. The result is an automated, end-to-end planning solution covering the entire P&L, enabling faster, more reliable forecasting and confident financial reporting.With improved data coherence, reduced manual effort, and scalable architecture, ABG is now equipped to grow its EPM capabilities across reporting, consolidation, and master data management. The successful partnership with TheVIT has empowered ABG to take full ownership of its planning processes, and ensured a robust foundation for financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
 

The final solution delivers what we envisioned, and it meets the requirements we defined at the outset. TheVIT has been a competent implementation partner: responsive, accessible, and with solid experience to advise and challenge us on how to approach this task. Their expertise in designing and implementing complex planning solutions has been a key factor in the project’s success.  An important element in our success following the implementation is that we have further documented the solution, and based on TheVIT's recommendation, we have invested further in internal resources to operate the solution independently.

As Alm. Brand Group (ABG) were in the middle of one of the largest post-merger integration processes in the Danish insurance market, the need for a more agile and scalable planning solution became clear. To stay ahead, ABG acquired Oracle EPM and partnered with TheVIT to modernise its financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities—laying the foundation for smarter decision-making and more streamlined planning and reporting processes.

The project was divided into focused workstreams, each aligned with core business areas such as Premiums, Claims, Reinsurance, Cost allocation, and Investments. Each business area and had a specific planning model and a dedicated model owner within ABG, and integration between models was a key priority from day one.

To ensure the solution delivered real business value, TheVIT focused on aligning technology with ABG’s operational needs—driving efficiency, accuracy, and user empowerment throughout the project.
